Our State of Victoria is still under some pretty heavy restrictions and the voices of defiance and rebellion are screaming louder than ever. Today (Saturday 19th Sept 2020) a mass protest is once again organised in Melbourne on the back of similar protests in recent weeks. This time they warn it will be greater in number and more forceful than before.
While I am all for standing for what is right and for righteous justice, I believe God has exposed the spirit behind our State's extreme rebellion. Sadly there are quite a few Christians who have partnered with this spirit and are posting and speaking words of defiance, hate and rebellious protest. Yes, it's good that we live in a democracy where we are free to express our opinions and free to stand for what we believe is right. But it is never ok for God's people to partner with rebellion, division, disunity and hate.
Andrew Scarborough in a great Facebook video recently (you can watch it here) brought this to my attention. Then this morning during our Prayer Zoom meeting the Holy Spirit highlighted this again and exposed the demonic spirit of rebellion that is covering our State of Victoria in particular.
If you can spare 10 minutes of your time, please watch the video below by Pastor Enoch who brings light to the dark spirit of rebellion that has covered our State for generations. In it he specifically pinpoints the Eureka Rebellion in 1854 that arose in Ballarat and how the spirit of rebellion that fuelled that is still alive and well in Victoria. Evidence of it is standing tall and proud in the heart of our capital city of Melbourne with the Eureka Skydeck being the highest point in our State, proclaiming in the spiritual realm that the heart of Eureka is not over. If you stop and think you begin to see evidence of the rebellious spirit all over the history of our State of Victoria. Even one of our most celebrated figures is Ned Kelly, the rebellious bushranger! Our sporting teams wear his image proudly, stepping onto the sports field like fierce rebels ready to win at any cost. Rebellion is celebrated. Rebellion is embraced as something that helps the cause for which we so passionately stand up for. The demonic spirit behind this is taking centre stage once again and our State and nation is suffering because of it.

If you haven't discerned it yet, let me assure you, the rebellious nature of what we are experiencing is also attached to a witchcraft spirit. Both Zoe Buhler (the pregnant lady who was arrested in her home in Ballarat) and Lizzy Rose (the YouTube protestor in defiance againts wearing a mask etc) are both self-proclaimed witches. It's no coincidence that they have both become the faces and voices of the rebellious movement sweaping our State. Let's be careful who and what we are coming into agreement with because this is a spiritual battle that can only be won on our knees!
Let me say this to the followers of Jesus...we are empowered to run into this battle to rescue and redeem a lost generation. We are the voices of hope, peace, unity, grace and love. We fight with weapons from Heaven's Kingdom realm, not with the weapons of this world. Here is 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 in the awesome Passion Translation, look at this,
"For although we live in the natural realm, we don’t wage a military campaign employing human weapons, using manipulation to achieve our aims. Instead, our spiritual weapons are energized with divine power to effectively dismantle the defenses behind which people hide. We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. Since we are armed with such dynamic weaponry, we stand ready to punish any trace of rebellion, as soon as you choose complete obedience."
So as you pray into this and fight on your knees for our State of Victoria and our Nation, please remember - you have the authority of Jesus' Name. In Matthew 16:19 Jesus said that He has given us the keys of the Kingdom and whatever we bind on earth is what is already bound in heaven. Is rebellion found in heaven...NO WAY! So let's bind it, arrest and silence it. Jesus then says we can loose on earth what is already loosed in heaven. What are the weapons we have access to that we can loose here on earth?
Consider coming in the opposite Spirit to what the spirit of rebellion is functioning under. Where there is rebellion we come in humble submission to our Almighty God - He is on the throne, we are not! Where there is hate, we come in radical grace and love. Where there is disunity, we come in united voices of hope and peace. Where there are screams of protest against governmental authorities, we come in prayerful outcries for salvation for our politicians and press in for revival and reformation. Where there are agressive and hateful words, we come with words that bring life, healing and blessing.
Though we are in this world, we are not of this world and therefore we live in this strange season as people who expose the nature of what is going on and we bring the solution only found in Jesus Christ. Believe it or not, but this battle is bigger and more wide-spread than what you've perhaps seen before. But be encouraged, while the Eureka Rebellion is the spirit that has been exposed, whenever darkness is exposed by the Light of the world (Jesus) it's power to rule has been stripped, the plug has been pulled and the power is decreasing day after day. The story is not over...
